Out there in blog land there is a letter thing going on. Every 2 weeks you do a blog post for that letter (we are going in order). This week it's the letter "A". And in our family "A" stands for Abby....... I post about Abby all the time so I wanted to change it up a bit.
So this week, "A" is for Auntie. It's a title I take very seriously. I have been an Auntie many times over, I have 14 nieces and nephews (Krystal, Mark Jr., Jackie, Nicole, Timothy, Matthew, Joseph, Rebecca, Maria, Michael, Hannah, Breanne, Devyn, Kaylee.......then my 4, Jamie, Nate, Tommy and Abby make 18 kids between us and maybe someday I might have another niece or nephew.....you just never know).
I like being an Auntie, I like being called Auntie and love all my nieces and nephews. I like when I call my sister Melissa and one of the kids answers and they say, "Hi Auntie". It's fun trying to guess who it is (there are six kids over there....well, five now...one is married). But each and every time they say it it is said with love and happiness. It makes me feel nice.
I like it when Devyn calls me "Aunts", she is a little stinker and has the quirky names for people (her dad is Dennis Michaelman). She kind of says it like, "Hey aunts, waz up?"......she is 4 years old....it's hilarious.
Breanne is learning how to spell her middle name and is finally making the connection that she was given my name (Michelle) as her middle name. I think she is pleased and I am honored. She is the best person ever to share a name with.
So "A" is for Auntie......I hope I get to have another niece or nephew soon....that would be awesome!

Great letter "A"! I have no siblings so I will never have a niece or nephew on my side but my husband has 6 siblings and there are 14 nieces and nephews (plus our 2 kids makes a total of 16 cousins). I am a stickler about using "Aunt" and "Uncle" with my kids so they use them all the time. The siblings not so much. It makes me a little sad to hear the older boys call their uncles by their first man.
